INSIDE & World Architecture Festivals 2014

In and Out

Every year, lucky Singaporeans get to live, breathe and gasp at the latest creations of the world’s top architects and interior designers …

The world’s interior and exterior architecture festivals 2014 – INSIDE | World Festival of Interiors and The World Architecture Festival – took place in the magnificent Marina Bay Sands Hotel, Singapore this past weekend, and here we have a look at the amazing winners.

After a jam-packed programme of inspirational design

and exciting lectures, the judges awarded the prize

of Overall World Interior of the Year 2014

to MOTT32 (above) by Joyce Wang Studio,

Hong Kong, a renovated basement storage facility

that has been transformed into a luxury industrial

New York meets classic Chinese restaurant.

The winner in the Residential category –

Xintiandi – also came from Joyce Wang Studio:

a three-story penthouse with a feature staircase

that winds around a double-height atrium,

and the most stunning views of Shanghai.

Among the great residential projects

the judges had to decide on were:

the Split House from China

and our favourite (above),

the Dune House in New Zealand.

The Overall Winner was the Chapel (above),
